During my studies, I received the Kodak Young Talent Award and two Reinhart Wolf Prize awards for my photographic work, which made my entry into the world of photography much easier. Today I live in Stuttgart and, in addition to my commissioned work, I photograph many freelance projects, often dealing with landscape themes, from which I can produce book publications.

The way I work could be described with the quote from the American photographer Lewis Hine, whom I hold in high esteem: "If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera". A main focus of my work is landscape photography and the change of the landscape by humans. I am interested in how we see and perceive landscape and how we react to changes, disappearance and loss.

The relationships between man and landscape is what drives me.

When you look at landscapes, it does something to our brain, it develops in parallel in the mind of the observer and for me it is as if they had a being of their own. We see and interpret the landscape, so it means something to us. This is where I started with my photography. In my photography I am less interested in the extreme changes caused by catastrophes and the destruction of nature than in the changing everyday landscape towards a monotonous and increasingly sterile landscape.

Topics are, for example, the influence of our mobility or the historical landscape, those fine layers, how our history has shaped the landscape. Furthermore, in my series from the Lightworks series I deal with the topic of why societies survive or perish.

Here I photograph exclusively with artificial light. This results in distinctive illuminated works of the traces and legacies of mankind. The history of the Alps is also a history of traffic routes.
